To have your signature notarized, you’ll need to have proper ID ready.
Here’s a list valid forms of ID from the CA Secretary of State. Please note that these forms of identification may be used provided they’re current or were issued within the last 5 years:
- An driver’s license or identification card issued by the CA DMV
- A United States Passport
The following forms of identification may be used, provided that it also contains a photograph, description of the person, signature of the person and an identifying number:
- An inmate identification card
- A valid consular identification document issued by a consulate from the person’s country of citizenship, or a valid passport from the person’s country of citizenship
- A driver’s license issued by another state or by a Canadian or Mexican public agency authorized to issue driver’s licenses
- An identification card issued by another state
- A United States military identification card (must include all of the previously mentioned required information.)
